Applied Developmental Psychology

Mallory is a second-year master’s student working in Dr. Winsler’s lab. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Psychology with a concentration in Human Services and a minor in General Business from Appalachian State University in May 2023. As an undergraduate, she studied how children expressed typical/atypical gender roles through play using observations from Appalachian State’s Child Development Center. During this time, she served as a Research Assistant supporting master’s and PhD student’s thesis and dissertation projects. In her first year, Mallory presented at conferences in California and the Netherlands covering topics such as differences in children’s social skills across gender and race, and bilingualism in children with DLD and ASD. Her current interests focus on policy implications for families and children in both home and school settings.
