Tiancheng (Allen) Chen is a doctoral student in the Industrial/Organizational psychology program at George Mason University. He received his bachelor’s degree in Hotel Administration (2012) and Psychology (2014) from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He received his Master's of Professional Studies degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology (2017) from the University of Maryland College Park.
Prior to starting the Ph.D. program, he worked as a management intern in the human resources department at Arlington County, Virginia. He worked with Arlington County Fire Department (ACFD) in designing fire department's Captain II promotional test, assessing test results, and providing feedback to candidates. He updated job analysis results for entry-level firefighters and proposed Arlington County Fire Department Lieutenant Certification Requirement Phase-in Plan to ACFD leadership team.
