Susanne Furman is a cognitive scientist in the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Visualization and Usability Group. She works on and investigates usability for both cybersecurity and biometric devices for agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Previously she worked at the US Department of Health and Human Services and ran the usability program that. She also worked as a usability engineer for IBM and GE. She has a PhD in Applied Experimental Psychology Human Factors from George Mason University.
