Clinical Psychology

Smita is a first-year Clinical Psychology Ph.D. student at George Mason University. She graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in Psychology and from Teachers College, Columbia University with a M.A. in Clinical Psychology. Before arriving at GMU, she worked as the research coordinator for the Prenatal Stress Study at Michigan State University, where she conducted participant interviews and assessments to collect biopsychosocial data from mothers and children. 

Smita is now a graduate student in the Lab for Community REACH with Dr. Lauren Cattaneo. Her overall research interests include intimate partner violence, social support, help-seeking behaviors, and marginalized communities.
