Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience: Trauma related psychopathologies in immigrant and refugee populations. Risky behaviors, including substance abuse, in South Asian and Middle Eastern immigrant populations. Pathology and biopsychology of intergenerational trauma.
Psychology M.A. student in the Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience program, graduating in May. My research interests focus mostly on immigrant and refugee trauma-related mental health outcomes, with a particular interest in substance use and risky behaviors. I am interested in the nexus between CBN and clinical psychology, especially surrounding the psychopathology and biopsychology of intergenerational trauma, religion/ spirituality-integrated mental health care, and culturally competent care.
