Industrial/Organizational Psychology

Andrea Updegrove, MEd, SHRM-SCP, is a second-year MA student in the Industrial-Organizational Psychology program. Andrea has worked for the Department of Defense since 2011 in various roles, including human resources, training, and employee development. Her work prior to joining GMU's I-O program focused on career development and strategic human capital analysis for procurement professionals, and she was featured in the trade publication Career Convergence in February 2024. Andrea also serves as an internal coach across the DoD and federal government. 

Current Research

Andrea has been a member of RuppLab since Fall 2024. She contributed to a selection validation study and is currently supporting an intersectional adverse impact project.
