Industrial/Organizational Psychology: Resilience, survival mode, DEI, positive psychology

My name is Julie Jasewicz (she/her) and I am from Upstate, NY in the Adirondack mountains. I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology with minors in Leadership & International Studies at the University at Albany. I completed my honors thesis on Building Resilience where I developed and tested a building resilience training program measuring participants' levels of resilience, empathy, psychological well-being, and university satisfaction pre and post-training. What drew me to IO psych is how research can be used as a catalyst for social justice.

I have a particular research interest in the dark side of resilience, particularly for minorities. I am starting the process of my Masters' thesis on how the dark side of resilience and survival mode affects the overall work experience for members of the LGBTQ+ community and how those experiences vary in environments when Queer folk can be out/versus are forced to stay closeted.
