Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience: Spatial navigation, Anxiety & Depression

Alexa is a M.A. student in Dr. James Thompson's lab in the Cognitive and Behavioral Neuroscience program (CBN).

Alexa graduated from George Mason University with a B.S in Psychology with concentrations in Clinical Psychology and Human Factors/Applied Cognition. During her time as an undergrad, she worked in multiple faculty member's labs in the Psychology department, ranging from clinical, developmental, and CBN. Her research as an undergrad involved childhood education, stress and suicidality, reward, and Parkinson's studies.

Currently, her research uses virtual reality to examine the effects of trait depression on foraging behaviors through fMRI.
