Dr. James Maddux Invited To Work With Afghan Ministry of Health On Psychosocial Counselor Training Program

Dr. James Maddux, emeritus professor in clinical psychology, has recently been invited by a non-profit organization called International Assistance Mission-Afghanistan to serve as a consultant in developing the curriculum for a two-year psychosocial counselor training program. This will be the first counselor training program in the history of Afghanistan, developed for the Mental Health Department of Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Health, and will be hosted in the northern city of Mazar e Sharif. For the time being, his work will involve long-distance consulting but may eventually include an on-site visit as well.
