Dr. James Maddux To Speak at 2015 APA Convention in Toronto

Dr. James Maddux, Professor Emeritus with Mason's Department of Psychology, has been asked to give an Invited Address at the 2015 APA Convention in Toronto this August. Maddux, a member of the clinical psychology program, recently accepted an invitation to speak from Dr. Jonathan Adler, Program Director for APA Division 8 (Society for Personality and Social Psychology).

"I am flattered and delighted by the invitation," says Maddux, who spent part of last year travelling in Europe and has recently been awarded a Fulbright Grant to work with psychology program directors for Klaipeda University in Lithuania.

Adler reached out to Maddux for his work on building a connection between basic understandings of social psychology and their applications in clinical psychology. Maddux plans to present a talk titled "The Social Psychology of Clinical Perception and Judgment: The Inconvenient Truth."
