University Professor Emeritus James Maddux just returned from a visit to Iasi, Romania where he gave the keynote address at the 7th International Conference on Applied Psychology and Educational Science at Alexandru Ione Cuza University - Romania's oldest university. His talk was titled "Psychiatric Diagnosis: History and Current Controversies."
This was Maddux's ninth visit to Romania in nine years as part of his continuing effort to help Romanian psychology's ongoing effort to develop as a science and a profession in the 30 years since the overthrow of the Communist dictatorship in 1989. Funding for the trip was provided by Mason's Center for the Advancement of Well-Being where Maddux holds an appointment as a Senior Scholar.
