Clinical Psychology: Parenting, prevention of adolescent psychopathology, promotion of adaptive parenting in diverse communities, biological mechanisms of parenting, fMRI

Claire is a fourth year doctoral student at George Mason in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program working with Dr. Tara Chaplin. She received her B.A. in 2015 from the University of South Carolina.  Her research interests encompass behavioral and biological ways of studying parenting factors that relate to adolescent outcomes, particularly in low-income or diverse communities. She is currently collecting data for her dissertation examining neural correlates of parenting in recently immigrated Latinx mothers and relationships with child and parent mental health. In the future, she hopes to integrate biological information into parenting interventions broadly and with diverse groups.
