Applied Developmental Psychology: Childcare policies and regulations, Teacher PD, Child Advocacy

Ajeya is a second year M.A student working in Dr. Adam Winsler's lab.

She graduated from Hampton University with a B.A. in Psychology in 2022. She previously worked as a lead teacher in early childcare where she created lesson plans and cared for young children and their families. With six years of experience in childcare ages 0-5, she became interested in their policies and figuring out what was and wasn't working towards the betterment of the children. Now, her research interests are childcare policy improvement, teacher PD and degree requirements, and childcare quality. She was drawn to the Head Start mission to advocate for and enact change in the lives of underserved children ages birth to five. Her goal is to combine her passion for child development and policy to positively impact children on a higher scale.
