Dr. Alexis Bridley earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in child psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi. After completing her predoctoral internship, she moved with her husband to South Korea for military service. After several quick moves, Dr. Bridley and her family landed in Northern Virginia. Dr. Bridley is excited to hold an adjunct instructor position at GMU as of the spring 2021 semester.
In addition to her work at GMU, Dr. Bridley is an adjunct instructor at Washington State University- Global Campus where she has been teaching since 2016. In addition to teaching online classes, Dr. Bridley has been working to create Open Education Resources (OER)- free, accessible, openly licensed textbooks for students. To date, Dr. Bridley has contributed to both an Abnormal Psychology and Psychology of Gender OER, both of which are used at WSU, as well as 25+ other universities.
In addition to her teaching obligation, Dr. Bridley works in private practice in Virginia providing brief intellectual and psychoeducational assessments to children.
