Section Information for Fall 2018
Explores the immediate, short-term, and long-term physiological and psychological effects of crime on victims through interviews with survivors of robbery, elder abuse, hate crimes, murder, and child abuse/trafficking. Compares the experiences of the individuals interviewed and victims of other crimes in order to foster empathy and compares treatment options for survivors. Classifies the roles and responsibilities of mental health professionals and law enforcement officers when interacting with victims of crime.
