Section Information for Fall 2021
This course examines major features of the leading world civilizations and types of global contacts, from early development to current patterns. It places consistent emphasis on linking historical developments with issues in the contemporary world, including the ongoing process of replacing agricultural systems with industrial forms. Readings and assignments stress comparative analysis and assessment of change over time, again extending these skills through historical perspectives on the present.
