The primary goals of this course are: to introduce students to a range of topics in the study of cognitive and perceptual development, with an emphasis on current issues; to teach students to think critically about findings in cognitive development; to enhance student understanding of
diversity as it applies to cognitive development; and to hone student skills in facilitating and participating in constructive discussions about science.

Survey of theory and the research on development of perception, memory, concepts, problem solving, intelligence, and academic skills in children. May not be repeated for credit.
Recommended Prerequisite: 6 credits of child psychology and course in experimental psychology or permission of instructor.
Registration Restrictions:

Enrollment limited to students with a class of Advanced to Candidacy, Graduate, Junior Plus or Senior Plus.

Enrollment is limited to Graduate or Undergraduate level students.

Students in a Non-Degree Post-Baccalaureate or Non-Degree Undergraduate degrees may not enroll.
