On Thursday and Friday, December 9-10, Mason’s Office of Student Scholarship, Creative Activities, and Research (OSCAR) presented a virtual Celebration of Student Scholarship and Impact, including the research of 13 CHSS students:

- Sociology major James Condo presented Addressing Trauma and Minority Stress: Towards an Intersectional Approach to EMDR with LGBT-POC Clients with advisor Anthony Hoefer
- History major Ege Gunes presented America’s Horror Pastime: How Late 1970s-Early 1980s Horror Movies Reflected the State of America with advisor Laura Jane Moore
- Psychology major Kayla Herrera presented Building Trust using Algorithmic Transparency in Automation with advisor Tyler Shaw
- Criminology, law and society major Levi Weaver presented Duty Among the Detained: Exploring Prisoners' Duties to Others Inside and Outside of Prison During Incarceration with advisor Taylor Hartwell

In addition, forensic science major Sophia DelGaudio presented Understanding Resident Empathy within Restricted Housing Units, working with advisors Justin Ramsdell and Jennifer Brielmaier from the Departments of Psychology, and Danielle Rudes from Criminology, Law and Society.
