Section Information for Spring 2017
This course explores the concept of tragedy through close readings of literary works both ancient and modern. These readings are informed by philosophical engagements with tragedy, the tragic, character, absurdity and fate. Readings will include epresentative works by: Aeschylus, Plato, Aristotle, Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, Camus, Kafka, Fanon and Richard Wright.
