Todd Kashdan, psychology faculty member, was quoted in the U.K.-based Psychologies magazine in an article analyzing the positive qualities of curiosity.

Robyn Mehlenbeck is the new Director of the Center for Psychological Services. Robyn earned her PhD from the University of Memphis and was a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She specializes in clinical work with adolescents experiencing chronic illness, including diabetes and eating disorders.

Dr. Steve Zaccaro was elected Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

At the annual convocations, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences marked the graduation of a high-achieving group of students. To the applause of record-breaking audiences,3,000 graduate and undergraduate students crossed the stage to receive their degrees in early May 2010.

Psychology major Daniel Brooks Jr. wears a 100-year-old black wool graduation robe at the 2010 Convocation of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and Commencement of George Mason University. Following a sacred family tradition, Brooks is the 30th family member to wear the gown. The first was his great-great-grandmother, who graduated from Wellesley College on June 21, 1910.

Dr. Linda Chrosniak was selected as the 2009 - 2010 Outstanding BIS Faculty Mentor for her support of Bachelor of Individualized Study students.
